Due to the rapid growth of clients, our audits revealed that we soon would not have enough capacity from our backup generators to cope with a prolonged power outage. Instead of just increasing the capacity of the existing units like we normally do, Data Savvy has decided to replace the all of the existing backup generators with bio diesel generators. This will incur a brief outage of a few minutes while they are tested and your sales representative will contact you individually with specifics of the outage.
Once the decision to use bio diesel generators was finalised, the topic of discussion went down the path of solar. For the benefit those of you who have not visited our building, it is basically shaped like a Wheat Bix box on steroids. The advantage of this shape (not aesthetics) is it has a very large flat roof which can hold a large array of solar panels. Data Savvy is currently thrashing through the logistics of being able to pump power back into the grid to not only lower our overheads, but to be environmentally friendly as well.
Watch this space for updates.

All at Data Savvy wish Sophie all the best as she has now left us to be a new mum. Bub is due early next month and she will probably have her hands full for a while. For those of you who know Sophie and would like updates, we will post details of the new addition when he/she arrives here.
Sophie was a major player behind the development of PlaceME and her extensive knowledge of the permanent placement process made the product a very intuitive and functional tool.
Thanks for all the hard work and knowledge you have given to Data Savvy and we wish you all the best.
Joy will be starting on Monday with us and will fill the seat left by Sophie.

As you may or may not be aware, MYOB have been in the process of rewriting their products to to keep them in line with current trends and technology as well as future proofing their software.
Data Savvy is a MYOB partner and were part of the MYOB National Workshop where they outlined the road map of their upcoming products and also sat down with the tech's and went through the coding required to interface with the upcoming releases.
MYOB will be launching their 'Accounts Live' product next month, which is a cloud based model of the software as well as the new product version 'Accounts Right' which will be the replacement for the existing SME software range.
We now have in our hot little hands the next generation of MYOB (named Huxley - this is just an internal name) and after going through it with the MYOB tech's it blew our socks off. The new version is a SQL based product (Same as Data Savvy) which makes the integration seamless. Huxley will be officially releases early next year and the feature rich environment will benefit all of our clients using MYOB.
